Estelle Artus is a French-American filmmaker and visual artist based in New York. Her work moves fluidly between narrative cinema, video art, and critical writing, consistently drawn to questions of displacement, identity, and the politics of belonging.

Her debut feature According to Her was a Golden Peacock Award Nominee at the International Film Festival of India. She is currently in post-production on her second narrative feature: Anywhere but Now.

Coming from the art world, her video art and installations have been exhibited across Europe and North America – at the Kunsthalle Basel, the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture in Moscow, the Korean Culture & Art Foundation in Seoul, the Vito Schnabel Gallery in New York and various art galleries throughout France.

As a writer, she has authored several narrative feature screenplays. S

As a creative director she has collaborated on music videos, artist talks, and immersive exhibitions.

Before moving to New York, Estelle was a tenured professor at Sorbonne University. She has lectured at the Museum of Modern Art and at Stevens Institute of Technology. She is currently an associate professor of art history at CUNY.
